   Allen R. Kates, MFAW, BCECR, has been a professional writer and editor for over thirty years, and has a Master of Fine Arts degree in writing (MFAW). He is author of the internationally acclaimed book CopShock, Surviving Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (first and second editions).

 

   Allen has written and produced television current affairs programs and documentaries, and has written screenplays, magazine articles and books.

 

   He is a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), and is Board Certified in Emergency Crisis Response (BCECR) by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress (AAETS).

 

   Allen lives in Tucson, Arizona, and shares his life with wildlife artist Sherry Bryant, four cats, two dogs, three love birds, and two pet cows.
